GWA is a financial advisory and research firm that designs wealth-weighted portfolios, and that created the FTSE GWA index series.

 The project brief
 
In 2006, GWA combined forces with FTSE, arguably the world's foremost stock index provider, to develop the FTSE GWA Index Series for the global equity market.  
 
To coincide with the FTSE link-up GWA approached us to create a new brand identity for them to represent their global influence. 
 
Their previous branding effort was inconsistent and failed to properly represent their standing as an important force in financial research and development.

 The solution
 
We worked closely with the client from the very beginning of the project, and they were keen to have input and be very involved throughout the design process.
 
The final logo incorporates an arc, representing a partial silhouette of the globe, against a mid-blue background, a colour selected by the clients themselves, and on which we were also keen.  
 
As part of the extended branding elements, all brand-centric images used contain international and technical themes, focusing on global imagery, as well as numerals, wireframes and outlines.
 
Additionally, each image features an "Easter egg" in the form of a silhouette of a person or people in a relevant pose, such as reading a newspaper or shaking hands, as in the lower image on the right.  Some of these silhouettes are much less easy to spot!
